SP_308374_ZUPP_Feature (06/25/2009 St. Petersburg) Two men fish from the Weedon Island Preserve fishing pier on a lazy Thursday afternoon last week. The nature preserve - nestled between Gandy Blvd. and Bayou Grande - boasts hiking trails, boardwalks, picnic areas, paddling trails, a 45-foot observation tower and a Cultural and Natural History Center. It is one of many probable Tampa Bay destinations for outdoor enthusiasts during the upcoming Fourth of July holiday weekend.
